Our “Get Sailing” program:
We have very capable and friendly coaches and, with their assistance, have drawn up an interesting and exciting program for you. Provision has been made in the programme for different levels of enthusiasm and commitment, so that everyone who starts will finish having had the opportunity to progress at their own pace.
Coaching is on Sunday mornings starting promptly at 10h00 and finishing at ±12h30.
The next course starts in February 2012 and runs through to April 2012.
The coaching dates in February will be Sunday 26th, then March – Sunday 4th, Sunday 11th, Sunday 18th, Sunday 25th and April – Sunday 1st. Please note that if the weather is unsuitable for sailing, coaching willtake place in a training room.
The course comprises (6) six coaching sessions which includes Temporary Club Membership, course notes, use of boats, coaching and coaching boats at a fee of R750.00 per person.
Please dress warmly, wear a pair of old takkies that you won’t mind getting wet and bring a change of clothing in the event of you getting wet when launching the boats and when sailing. If you have your own lifejacket please bring it along but if not we will provide you with one.
“Get Sailing” members are invited to bring members of their family with them, and for everyone to make use of all the club facilities to the full for the duration of the course. This family membership costs an additional R100.00 and offers wonderful value. If members of the family other than the “Get Sailing” member would like to stay and enjoy the club facilities each weekend, we do ask very cordially, but firmly, that family membership be considered.
You are invited to come to the Club as early as you wish as there are rowers out rowing from 06h00 onwards. When they come off the water they come and enjoy hot coffee, tea, muffins and snacks which are available from our tuck shop. Lunches are on sale from our galley to be enjoyed indoors, or as a picnic on the lawns. The swimming pool is there for all members.
Please be kind enough to advise us as soon as possible if you wish to join this program. We attach an Application and Indemnity form, to be returned to the Club, with proof of electronic payment into our Standard Bank account at the Constantia branch, branch code 025 309 Account Number 071 837 892 in the name of Zeekoe Vlei Yacht Club, or if preferred, payment can be made when you come for the first training session.
